Born on May 8, 1958, Steve grew up in West Islip, NY, and graduated from West Islip High School. A talented mechanic, journeyman mechanical drafter, and fabricator/installer, Steve took great pride in his craft and the projects he helped bring to life. He began his career as an apprentice with Triangle Sheet Metal Works, Inc., where he contributed to the restoration of the Statue of Liberty, working on the crown and torch. He later worked with Blue Diamond Sheet Metal, where he was part of the team that renovated the Rainbow Room at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and contributed to projects at the World Trade Center. In later years, he continued his work with Unique Duct Design Tristate Mechanical, where his precision and dedication were deeply valued.

A man of deep faith and service, Steve was a devoted member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in West Islip for decades. He led the youth group, sang in the choir, served on Session, and could often be found fixing or improving something around the church – always with a smile and a willing heart. It was the church where he and Connie were married, where both daughters were baptized, where Jill and Bobby exchanged vows, and where his grandson Declan was baptized.

Steve will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering willingness to help others. He approached both his work and his life with integrity, skill, and compassion – always finding joy in family, friendship, faith, and lending a hand wherever it was needed.
